Week 3 — Art Activity — Drawing
This activity was fun because I laughed a lot at how the drawing of myself turned out. I was also a little frustrated because I would think I'm getting it to look sooo similar to what I was looking out but that wasn't the case for any of my sketches. At the most maybe the drawing of the orchids. I enjoy drawing flowers whenever my mind would wander in class I would usually draw flowers or hearts in my notes. I would most definitely draw again.
I do think practice makes perfect. I noticed for all my sketches that when I tried the second time they came out better. So if I were to practice for 100 or 1,000 hours I would get much better.
I'm a Biology major. As a bio major, we are constantly drawing parts of a cell and the way those cells function. It helps us understand how the system works by drawing them over and over again. Sketching is very useful in my major, as a matter of fact, I had just submitted an assignment that required us to draw a protein fusing to the plasma membrane.
Drawing is a language… When someone is going through a lot and can't seem to express themselves in words, they tend to pour all that emotion into a drawing. I think expressing what we want to say in a drawing sometimes works better than actually saying it verbally.
