Wk 13 — Art Activity — Portfolio Research

1. Wildlife Biologist-Here, I would need to obtain clearance through a client background check to access the online system (upon employment). > Comply with all Cardno and client policies including those related to safety, anti-harassment, and drug use. > Review client requests for environmental clearance to ensure they provide adequate information. > Conduct desktop reviews for environmental clearance work and ensure proper reviews and/or surveys are completed by Cardno staff or subcontractors according to client schedule. > Engagement in the process and willingness to identify process improvements to provide benefit to our client. > Complete desktop reviews to determine appropriate levels and types of environmental reviews needed for new projects. > Must be authorized to work in U.S. without company sponsorship. This is a nice internship because I don’t need any previous experience so I can start right away. I would offer value to this company because I am very organized and this job needs someone who is.
2. Oncall Biologists- Here, they are looking for biologists interested in applying their knowledge of California fish, wildlife and/or flora to a variety of projects in the greater Los Angeles region. Responsibilities may include pre-construction surveys, construction compliance monitoring, fish and wildlife monitoring, plant identification and surveys, and/or habitat assessments. This is an on-call temporary position. This would be ideal for me because it is temporary so I won’t need to commit. So as I am learning about what I like I can use this opportunity to test out a marine biology route.
3. Projects Scientist- Here I would need to do ongoing cancer research and work mainly in a laboratory. The work will focus on understanding mechanisms of resistance to standard chemo- and immune therapies in women’s cancers. I would also need a graduate degree (PhD/ MD PhD) in basic sciences. This means that this would be a future job, not something I can do now. I can offer value t this company because I am very interested in cancer research.
4. Meghan Rodela- Very intelligent biologists with a master's degree. Knows a lot about biology and is great at teaching it.
5. Bryan Livingston- A professor with a doctorate degree. Knows a lot about biology with a focus on molecular cell biology.
6. Andrea Chenn- Also a very great and intelligent professor who helps her students.

I would use a website to position myself as a promising candidate to be an employee, consultant, or summer intern for the companies/clients I’ve listed because it allows me to keep everything I've ever accomplished on a single website. I can also edit it in a way that describes how I am as a person who will be eyecatching to someone viewing my website. What's also great is that as weeks, months, or years pass I can continue to add to the website listing new accomplishments.
